McKibben Boating Center of Sebring is an Icon EV dealer at 7500 US Hwy 27 S, Sebring, FL 33876. We sell new and used Icon EV golf carts, set them up for how you plan to use them, and service them in the same shop that looks after our customers' boats and trailers.

We also sell Epic Carts, and the two come from the same ICON family of brands. That puts us in a useful position. We have no reason to push one over the other, so this page gives you the straight version of how they differ and which buyers each one suits.

Below you will find the current ICON X lineup, an honest Icon versus Epic comparison, the lifted or standard question, what Florida allows on the road, and how to charge and store a lithium cart through a Highlands County summer.

New & Used Icon EV Golf Carts for Sale in Sebring

Stock, colors and seating change from one truckload to the next. Use this to learn the ICON X range, then check live inventory or call for what is here now.

ICON i20X

The two seat i20X is the simplest way into the range. It is short, easy to park and suits an owner who mostly rides alone or with one other person.

With the back left open for gear, it doubles as a runabout for a property, a marina slip or a fish camp where the job is carrying things more than carrying people.

ICON i40X and i40FX

The four seat carts are where most buyers land. Icon lists the i40X with lithium power, four wheel disc brakes, three point seat belts, a 10.1 inch touchscreen with a backup camera and an onboard charger.

The i40FX is a second four seat option in the ICON X range. Sit in both, because seat shape and trim are easier to judge in person than online.

ICON i60LX

The i60LX is the six seat lifted model, with independent front suspension and the same touchscreen and backup camera. It is the cart for large families and groups who head out together.

Six seats means a long wheelbase. Check your garage, your carport and any tight corners on your street before you commit.

Ride height, set up here

Icon uses what it calls the ICONIC LIFT SYSTEM, which lets the dealer adjust ride height. In practice that means we can set a cart up for mostly paved streets or for grass, sand and rougher ground.

Ask about it during the deal so the cart is set for your use before delivery rather than adjusted later.

Icon EV or Epic Carts: An Honest Comparison

This is the question we hear most from cart shoppers, so here is our view as a store that sells both.

They are related. Icon EV and Epic Carts are both part of the ICON family of brands, and both current lines run on lithium power. On paper the four and six seat models share a lot, including disc brakes, touchscreen displays and backup cameras on the models that list them.

The difference is positioning. Icon presents ICON X as its core line for neighborhood, community and golf course use, and the wider Icon family also covers utility and commercial carts. Epic is the more upscale lifestyle line, with the FX series aimed at buyers who want a more premium look and cabin. Styling, seats, trim and the price you pay follow from that.

So how do you choose? If you want a well equipped lithium cart for getting around Sun 'n Lake, Spring Lake or a lake community and you care most about value, start with Icon. If the look and finish matter as much as the function, sit in an Epic next. Most people settle it within ten minutes of trying both.

Read more on our Epic Carts page, which covers golf cart life around the lakes in more detail.

Icon EV Service and Parts in Sebring

Our shop services Icon EV carts, including those bought from another dealer. That covers brakes and tires, steering and suspension, ride height adjustment, lighting and signals, charging faults, controller and battery diagnosis, and accessory fitting.

Lithium carts need far less routine care than the lead acid carts many people are used to. No watering, no acid on the terminals, no corroded battery tray. What they still need is correct charging and a check on the mechanical parts that wear: brake pads, tire pressure, steering joints and suspension bushings.

Charging complaints are often simple. Before you book a visit, test the outlet with another appliance, make sure the charge cord is fully seated, and look at the charge indicator on the body. If the cart still will not take a charge, bring it in and we will test the charger, the pack and the connections together rather than guessing at parts.

Heat and humidity in Highlands County are hard on seats, plastics and screens. Keep the cart in a garage or under a carport where you can, and use a cover when it has to sit outside through afternoon storms.

Financing and Trades

Start a credit application online before you come in, and the paperwork will not be the slow part of the visit. Rate, term and approval depend on credit and are not guaranteed in advance.

We accept trades, and older lead acid carts are welcome. Expect the condition and age of the battery pack to drive most of the appraisal. Bring the cart, its charger and any battery receipts.

Icon runs manufacturer programs from time to time. Call and ask what applies to the model you want before you visit.

Choosing an Icon EV: Seats, Height, Street Use and Charging

Count seats for a normal week, not a holiday

Buy for how often you really carry passengers. A four seat cart with a rear seat that flips to cargo covers most households. The i60LX earns its length only if five or six people ride together often.

Lifted or standard height

Standard height rides smoothly on pavement and is the easier step in for older riders. Lifted handles sandy yards, grass and the ruts on a path to the water. Because Icon lets the dealer adjust ride height, tell us where the cart will spend most of its time and we will set it up to match.

Golf cart use or LSV use

In Florida a golf cart is limited to 20 mph and to roads designated by the local government, generally posted 30 mph or less. Operators under 18 need a learner's license or driver license, and those 18 and over need a government-issued photo ID. An LSV goes over 20 and up to 25 mph, may use roads posted 35 mph or less, and must be titled, registered and insured with PIP and PDL, with a licensed driver. Confirm current rules with FLHSMV and your local government.

Charging a lithium cart at home

Icon lists an onboard charger on the i40X and i60LX, so you plug the cart into a standard outlet rather than carrying a separate charger. Pick a covered spot with an outlet close by, avoid long extension cords, and follow the owner's manual for charging and for storing the cart if you leave for the summer.

Buying a used Icon EV

Confirm whether the pack is lithium or an older lead acid setup, plug it in to check the charger works, drive it on a slope to test the brakes, and try every light, signal and the display. If it is sold as an LSV, match the VIN to the title.

Icon EV Questions We Get Asked

Where is the nearest Icon EV golf cart dealer to Sebring?

McKibben Boating Center of Sebring sells Icon EV golf carts at 7500 US Hwy 27 S, Sebring, FL 33876. We carry the ICON X range alongside Epic Carts, set ride height for how you will use the cart, and service carts in our own shop. Call 863.465.2814 to check which models and colors are in stock.

Are Icon and Epic golf carts made by the same company?

Yes. Icon EV and Epic Carts both belong to the ICON family of golf cart brands. Icon's ICON X series is the core line for neighborhood and community driving, while Epic's FX series is the more upscale lifestyle line. Both use lithium power, and we sell both in Sebring so you can compare them side by side.

Are Icon golf carts street legal in Florida?

An Icon golf cart is street legal on Florida roads posted 35 mph or less only when it is titled, registered and insured as a low speed vehicle with the required equipment. Used as a golf cart, it is limited to 20 mph on roads designated by local government. Confirm current requirements with FLHSMV and your local government before driving.

How long does it take to charge a lithium golf cart?

Charge time depends on the battery size, the charger and how far the pack has been drained, so check the owner's manual for your model. In daily use most owners simply plug in overnight. Icon lists an onboard charger on models such as the i40X and i60LX, which plugs into a standard household outlet.

Is a lifted golf cart better than a standard one?

A lifted golf cart is better for sand, grass and rough ground, while a standard height cart is better for paved streets and riders who find a high step difficult. Neither is better everywhere. Icon allows dealer adjustable ride height, so tell us where the cart will be driven and we will set it up to suit.
